Assessment/Treatment PlanningFirst appointments are usually initial assessments that is thorough. At this appointment, you should be prepared to answer questions about your or your family's medical history, medical history, recent physical changes or observations. Issues such as presence of pain, falls or near falls and what increased their frequencies would be asked as well. Don't worry if you don't have all the answers, we will uncover more when we perform our clinical and physical assessment as well. We will also ask how you prefer our physiotherapy and/or hand therapy to proceed, as every client is different. Some likes structure, some does not. Some just wants a solution, some wants to be part of that solution. We will work with you to set up a treatment plan that is a good fit for you. You should also feel free to ask us any questions you have, and you may even want to prepare some questions before coming for the first meeting. If you have decided beforehand that you will be seeing us as your primary therapist, please feel free to download and complete the initial forms. That will save us a lot of time, and we can focus the sessions on more clinical interventions, education and treatment modalities. If you have not selected a therapist, then feel free to come for an initial consultation session with us. If you like, we can provide you with the names of other therapists, medical specialists, rehabilitative equipment and possible solutions that you may want to consider as well. If you decide that we will be your primary therapist, we will first meet with you or your family for an initial consultative meeting. In this meeting, there will be clinical interviewing, physical assessments to understand you or your family's rehabilitative needs, and create an intervention plan. Then we will figure out how we want to proceed and the possible physiotherapy approaches that will be the best fit for you or your family. It may be done individually, or we may decide to have the family or caregiver to be present, whichever is more appropriate and productive for the therapy session and outcomes. We will measure our progress towards our goals based upon the physical therapy and/or hand therapy plan we create, though we always re-evaluate as we go along, to see if we need to scale back the intensity or to ramp up the frequency to meet you or your family's goals. Physiotherapy or hand therapy is not mysterious - we facilitate clinical and measured progressive healing and mobility, through the use of modalities such as heat, ultrasound, exercise, joint mobilizations and manipulations as well as splinting for protection. We will share with you the purpose and plan for each activity along the way, that you will understand what and where we want to go in achieving your rehabilitative needs. At any point in time, you and your family can ask us questions. And if there's any questions that you may ask and we do not know the answer, we will tell you that we don't know and then help you find the answer the next time you come.
PaymentIn our physiotherapy clinic in at 72 Joo Chiat Terrace, Singapore 427234, we accept: 1) cash2) cheques3) NETS (Debit Cards) In our (upcoming) clinic in Paragon Medical, Orchard, we will accept: 1) cash2) cheques3) NETS (Debit Cards)4) Credit Cards Our fees range from SGD $150 to SGD $180, for our physiotherapy and hand therapy sessions, depending on the kind of therapy and the length of time of our sessions. For hand therapy, splinting is priced differently, based on the size of splint required to make (there are finger splints which are small, to large ones for the shoulders and knees) and their prices range from SGD $65 to SGD $300.00 Currently AIA Insurance accepts our receipts for insurance claims and processing, but you would need to have a doctor's referral form to facilitate it. Also, it is a pay-and-claim approach, so you would require to pay first and claim from your provider later. However, if you require it, some insurance companies issue forms to fill, and we would be more than happy to help you with the insurance forms processing. Your sessions may be tax deductible as well. There are a few reasons why I do not accept other types of insurance. It is a very time consuming process having to deal with insurance companies. Some offer very low reinbursement rates, but more importantly is that I prefer to spend the time in therapy with you or your family providing physiotherapy and hand therapy rather than taking time filling in claims and completing insurance paperwork, though I will still do it for you if you requested me to. For some of our clients, they prefer to keep private personal medical and therapy information from the insurance companies, so they don't file for insurance. Regardless, we will do our best to meet your physical therapy needs, as well as in insurance billing management. It'd be good if you can call your insurance company before you come to see us for physiotherapy assessments and interventions, ask for the amount of deductible if you have coverage, as you know how much each sessions will cost.
