Vietnam, Here We Come~

We’ve received an invitation to help out for a social project by one of our partners, CSM Academy! And we’re excited to be invited, but it’s pending 2-weeks until confirmation. In the meantime, we’d need to block schedule first, with our existing clients. Mmm…that’s going to be slightly challenging…but no matter, we’re keen and game for it.

Perhaps the earlier date of informing them will give us more grace time and more time for them to anticipate a change of manpower during a week of non-servicing from us.

This way, we can also look for some of our Vietnamese clients who had gone back to Vietnam, as well as some friends who are now staying there.

Let’s hope it comes to pass as planned.

Update Time

Wow, it’s been some time since since we last updated in this blog, here are some of the changes that had happened in the first half of this year:

1) The privatisation of therapywerkz to Urbanrehab Pte Ltd

2) We’ve gotten our own domain (www.urban-rehab.org) and our emails

3) We have a new logo

4) We have new business cards and branding

5) We have new customers

6) We have new testimonials

And so much more too! We’re working on several projects now, one of which will tentatively bring us all the way to Vietnam! Excited for that assignment – will keep you posted again

Asia Conference Charity Golf 2010 With TravelGolf’s Corrine and Peter

We had the privilege to assist with golfers who participated in the Asia Conference’s Charity Golf 2010 in Sentosa just two weeks ago, in end May 2010. It was a hot hot day, but that didn’t dampen the glee of the pro-golfers who had come to the greenway as early as 6 plus in the morning to catch Dr Yonggi Cho of Korea’s largest church (Yoido Full Gospel) as Dr Cho graced the opening of the Charity Golf event.

Peter and Corrine were the lead organisers of the event by TravelGolf, and they had personally extended the invitation to us therapists in Urbanrehab to see if we could help out with the event in any ways we could.

Well, we being therapists, can always tell – sports enthusiasts almost always will bear their battle scars proudly. And so we did treat and advised about 5-6 golfers whom all has the classic golfers’ elbow as well as accompaniment with a variation of back or ankle injuries. None were acute in nature, being primarily chronic.

We advised on care of acute injuries as well as managing chronic golfer’s elbows, and spent the most of our day there. We will add a special article on tennis elbow management for all our pro-golfer friends soon. Special thanks to Corrine and Peter for extending the invitation to us.

The conceptualisation was done by Aaron Ling, he’s the guy who we have been working with all these while for all our print advertising needs, other than the talented Jean Wong.

We wanted a design that’s clean, medical, which is characterised by white background, soothing green as well as solid grey for stability. The siloutte of a person demonstrates a healthy individual, as well as us reaching ever higher to present better and better rehabilitation for our clients.

Providing Rehabilitation Solutions means…we always have, always will, provide rehabilitation solutions.

5 Reasons Why We Provide Home Based Rehabilitation

Home has never been sweeter.

Urbanrehab has launched it’s program of Home Based Rehabilitation (Occupational Therapy and/or Physiotherapy) services for their clients for the past 10 months, and we have been receiving compliments and good feedback regarding our therapy services.

Further discussion with the clients and their families confirm what we research and found to be good reasons why we provide home based rehabilitation, and they are:

1) Capitalise On Limited tolerance.

For some of our clients, by the time they leave their homes and travel to rehabilitation centres/hospitals, they’re already too tired to participate effectively in the therapy programs, so they end up sitting around resting when they’re supposed to be there for rehabilitation and therapy.

2) Accessibility Is No Longer A Problem

Clients who stay in landed property or estate which have lesser environmental support such as lack of lift-landing, inadequate access to carparks/bus stops may be hindered for therapy outside of their homes.

3) Expensive Transportation? No More.

As a result of some injuries or limited mobility, some of our clients require to travel by ambulance, which can cost up to S$75 per trip, to go to the rehabilitation centre. We minimise these transportation costs by bringing rehabilitation to you.

4) Children Who Has To Work (Time constraint) Can Focus On Their Work

Children of parents who require rehabilitation and/re-conditioning usually have to take precious time off to take their parents to the rehabilitation centres, sit and wait for them to receive their rehabilitation, before sending them home. Sometimes, it may take up to 4 hours including waiting times.

5) One-Therapist, One-Client. No More Sharing And Excessive Waiting.

We are particular about quality. We only provide one therapist to one client at any given time, there will be no sharing of therapists or attendance by therapy assistants.

By bringing our one-to-one physiotherapist and/or occupational therapist to your home, we not only save your time, but we help to boost your productivity/business continuity, capitalise on the injured client’s tolerance, minimise accessibility limitation and expensive transportation.

…and running again!

We can’t believe that we had so much trouble and that our server had crashed, along with all our precious information inside (well say frankly we didn’t update much, so there wasn’t much inside in the first place) but to redo all the groundwork again, it’s tedious! Now that I look back at it though, it looks much better now, neater, cleaner, and even easier to read.

Perhaps it’s a blessing in disguise.

Well, it IS still a new year, this website revamp was supposed to take place earlier this year, supposedly January 2010 but it has been delayed for quite some time as we were quite caught up with work: re-working the system and setting gears in place. It’s a rough start, but it’s gradually smoothening out over the months. It’s been fun though, and it’s never been more fun working with Louise. =)

Of Ergonomics, Repetitive Strain Injuries And Corporate Trainings

We have made contact with Jessica of Health Coach International, and we may venture into the corporate sector to manage ergonomic-related injuries and problems arising as repetitive strain injuries and productivity matters. We’re quite excited for this and we’re waiting to see what more will come up of it. So far, we need to send our profiles to them to prepare the EDMs and website.

Things that we’re quite pro for are really one thing: productivity pushing by decreasing risks of injuries as well as managing those at risks and those already injured to get them back running quickly into productivity mode.

We’ll keep you posted on the matter, and wish us luck!
