Ergonomics and Human Factors Program
Ergonomics the science of fitting the work and the environment to the person. It prioritize people first, taking into consideration their physical capabilities, capacities and limitations. Ergonomics and human factors aims to ensure that there is a good fit and synergy between tasks, equipment, information and environment suit each worker. Objectives of the Ergonomics and Human Factors ProgramThe ergonomics program offered by Urbanrehab aims to help your organization to maintain, grow and bolster the highest quality of working life practicable by employees by:- reducing the potential for on-the-job injuries and the consequent costs to the organization in terms of loss of time at work and medical treatment
- to encourage an awareness of safe work practices in the workplace
- to promote the health awareness and job satisfaction in the workplace
The program consists of three segments: Evaluation, Training and EducationEvaluationThe overall goal of the ergonomic analysis is to gather and provide pertinent data and information that will facilitate the health initiatives or the development of an environment that will enhance both the human performance and well being of employees at the workplace. From the evaluation, we will generate a comprehensive report that contains the hazards and risks identified as well as suggestions for improving workstations and work processes (refer to diagram at the bottom of the page). There are three levels of evaluation:- Comfort Level Survey (Symptoms Survey) – this survey is to determine and analyse the subjective and objective comfort level of the employees in a particular job or work area. From the survey, we will be able to provide you with information on your employees’ health profile. We recommend that the survey covers all the employees or an appropriate sample representative of the organization.($240 per employee, inclusive of individual reports)
- On-Site Evaluation - this involves the analysis of work set-up and workstation and the identification of risk factors. The objective is to compose and gather a list of ergonomic risk factors associated with specific duties and tasks. The methods used consists of observation and measurement. Following the evaluation, we will provide a report for the area assessed. The report will include cost-effective recommendations on workstation designs and preventing and alleviating work-related musculoskeletal disorders.($450 per employee/workstation; contact us for a quotation)
- Follow Up Consultation - the follow up consultation is to re-evaluate recommendations and changes to ensure that the implementations do not have a negative impact on other portions of the job. A follow up Comfort-Level Survey may also be conducted 6 months after the implementation of the changes and training to measure the outcomes of the program.($350 per hour)
Training and EducationThe purpose of training and education is to ensure that employees are sufficiently informed and educated on the ergonomic hazards to which they may be exposed to and hence be able to participate actively and independently in their own protection in the future. The trainings may be in the forms of talks and demonstrations, as well as workshops and seminars.- On-Site Talks and Demonstrations – The talks and demonstrations will be targeted at all employees.
