We provide deep tissue massage by a dedicated and trained deep tissue and sports massage therapist who has been providing massage since 2002 in our physiotherapy clinic in Singapore.
What makes it effective compared to the usual massage outside is because we come from a clinical perspective of deep tissue release and sports massage -
of course, working with a team of licensed physiotherapists and occupational therapists (who have studied the human anatomy and physiology, graduated, more than a thousand hours of clinical practice plus clinical experience), collectively we understand the body much better than anyone else.
We're able to prescribe and perform a variety of massage techniques that can improve the function of affected muscles and soft tissues in daily tasks and activities. What we do is we treat tender and tense areas strategically with least discomfort for maximal muscle de-tense. What we also will do is to provide you with home or workplace exercises and stretches to help you with muscle relaxation between sessions, to help reduce risks of re-injury or re-occurrence of muscle strains and stress.
Deep tissue massage and massaging realigns the deeper layers of soft tissues, connective tissues and muscle fibers. Strokes are similar to clinical massage therapy, but it is slower and a deeper, more penetrating force is applied on tense and tender points. When such forces are applied deeply, they loosen knots and adhesions that lie deep within muscles and tissue fibers.
Adhesions can restrict a muscles normal contraction-relation process, limiting how it normally moves, and this affects our overall mobility, function and independence. It can also cause pain and swelling. Physiotherapy deep tissue massage breaks down and loosen these adhesions, relieving pain and restoring muscle movement, and ultimately, causing normal mobility to occur again. We do this by applying deep pressure and forces cross-fibers of muscles and connective tissues. Most of our patients often report an immediate improved active range of motion in a body part or in a whole sense of mobility.
